Sutton United will be without Dan Wishart and Bedsente Gomis for tonight’s National League South clash with Bishop’s Stortford.

Wishart will also miss the crunch clash against Ebbsfleet on Saturday as he completes a two-match suspension.

Gomis is on the treatment table with an ankle injury, joining long-term absentee Craig McAllister.

Doswell said: “Ebbsfleet will be a big game, but none are bigger right now than tonight’s game. If we win, then we go top of the table.

“Losing Dan and Bedsi is a blow as they and Nick Bailey and Craig Eastmond have been playing very well in midfield.

“But Ross Stearn and Craig Dundas will come back in.”

Gomis and Wishart were on the scoresheet in Saturday’s 4-0 win at Margate, which also featured goals from Tom Bolarinwa and Kevin Amankwaah.

“It was a fabulous performance and I cannot give the players any higher praise,” Doswell said.

“They’ve gone 22 games unbeaten and broken the league record and they do not get enough credit.

“They are the best team I have ever managed, and as a manager it is my highest achievement.”

Doswell also revealed that they will not be appealing the red card dished out to Amankwaah during the 2-1 win at Maidstone last week – which means he will miss the final two games of the season against Chelmsford City and Oxford City.

He said: “The ref’s report says Kevin punched him in the face, and we know that’s not the case, but unfortunately he did raise his hands into the keeper’s chest and you cannot do that.

“We could appeal it, but the FA would rightly say, ‘He raised his hands’ and we’d not have a case.”
