Sutton star Roarie Deacon has joined Dundee.

Deacon scored 11 goals for the U’s last season as they reached the fifth-round of the FA Cup.

The non-league side were knocked out by Premier League giants Arsenal, but the winger impressed against his former club.

Deacon, 25, was out of contract this summer and opted to sign a two-year deal with Dundee.

Speaking about his star man’s departure, Sutton boss Paul Doswell said: “We are delighted that Roarie has got a move to the Scottish Premiership.

“To be playing regularly against great clubs such as Celtic and Rangers in amazing stadiums is a fantastic reward for all his efforts for Sutton last season.

“His contribution on and off the pitch will always be fondly remembered, particularly his outstanding performances in our FA Cup run.

“We are also proud of our part in another success story of getting the very best out of a player and getting him back to a higher level of professional football.

“There’s no doubt that Roarie’s career was at a standstill when he joined us, and it shows that with hard work and commitment that anything is possible.”
