Alan Dowson is preparing the second part of his Hampton & Richmond Borough revolution.

The boss praised his side’s performance last weekend when goals from Charlie Moone and Nick Bignall saw the Beavers beat Ryman Premier League title favourites Margate 2-0 at the Beveree.

He said: “We were outstanding against Margate, and we’ve set ourselves a benchmark that we need to meet week in, week out.

“We’re at Wingate this weekend, another side that are up there in the table, and it’ll be interesting to see how we perform in light of the Margate win.

“If we compete how we know we can, like we did against Margate, then we’re a match for any team.

“But I know we still need three or four more players, and we’ve got a good break and that will give me a chance to put the second part of the jigsaw in place.

“When I came here, we needed almost a whole new team, but now we’re only looking at three or four.”

He added: “Now we have to push on, that’s the challenge we all face.”

Beavers will be out for revenge over Wingate this weekend after a 4-1 defeat last time they met.
