Kingstonian goalkeepr Rob Tolfrey has said staying at Kingsmeadow was an easy decision because new boss Tommy Williams will not tear the heart from his home.

The 26-year-old shot stopper penned a new deal to remain between the sticks for Ks next season this week after Arron Goode, Sam Page, Steve Laidler and Josh Casey all confirmed they were up for a Ryman Premier League title challenge next term.

Williams also unveiled new signings Alan Inns and Nathaniel Pinney this week as the new management team look to make a smooth transition into the hotseat by resisting sweeping changes.

And Tolfrey, who is set to be behind a similar back four to the one that helped him keep 20 league cleansheets last season, admitted that suited him just fine.

“This is my  home isn’t it,” said the man who has made more than 200 appearances for the club.

“I spoke with Tommy and the new managers do not want to change the core of the squad, which made the decision easy.”

He added: “I want to progress with this club.

“Next year will be my sixth season here and I see no reason why we can’t get up to the Skrill South – where this club belongs.”

Margate, who signed Ks striker Ryan Moss last week, are the hot favourites to win the league, but Tolfrey, along with assistant boss Graham Harper, believes that may count for little.

“They are chucking a lot money about, but money can’t everything and there is no reason why we can’t be challenging,” he added.

Ks have confirmed pre-season friendlies with Braintree Town and Dover Athletic.
