The Football Association have blamed Kingstonian for the delay to their investigation into keeper Rob Tolfrey’s meltdown against Bognor Regis Town last month.

Ks and Bognor were due to submit their reports to the FA disciplinary department last Tuesday, but Ks requested more time to produce their documents.

An FA spokesman has since confirmed the necessary paperwork has now been received, but has not been able to put a timescale on when the issue might be resolved.

“The matter is still ongoing following a request by Kingstonian to have a longer period of time by which to respond with their observations,” he said this week.

“Replies have now been received from both clubs and are being considered.

“I am not in a position to predict where this investigation will lead and what action, if any, will be taken.”

Tolfrey, who tussled with away fans after a 2-1 defeat to the Rocks at Kingsmeadow in February, was again between the sticks as Ks crashed 1-0 at Lewes on Saturday.

Boss Tommy Williams, whose side drew 3-3 with Margate last week with the 27-year-old in goal, has refused to speculate on the affect the controversy might be having on his squad’s attempts to reach the play-offs.

But his side – currently 11th in the table – are still to win a game in two matches since the incident at Kingsmeadow on February 23 and have had a player sent-off in both games.
