Ks not concerned over Kingsmeadow future as they host Euro champs Chelsea

Blues on the doorstep: Ks boss Alan Dowson and fan Dave Beaupre
Kingstonian boss Alan Dowson could not be less worried about AFC Wimbledon’s plans to quit Kingsmeadow as his men prepare to face Premier League Chelsea tomorrow.
The Dons announced details of a proposed return to Plough Lane earlier this week, which could see them move out of Jack Goodchild Way in five years time.
Kingstonian have a ground share agreemment until 2033 on the stadium – which the Dons lease from Kingston Council – although that could change should AFC move out.
And Dowson, who welcomes the Blues to town 24 hours before their Community Shield clash with Manchester City, is confident the club would not be left in the lerch.
“We don’t really know too much about the plans, but it is such a long way
off. There is no need to worry about it at the moment,” he said.
“We’ve always got along very well with AFC Wimbledon and I’m sure they will treat us well.”
Dowson and Ks fan Dave Beaupre hit the streets last Saturday in a bid to build support for Ks ahead of tomorrow’s game – which is the third friendly visit from Premier League opposition
this summer.
Ks have already lost clashes with Tottenham Hotspur and Fulham.
