It was more home comfort for Carshalton Athletic as they comfortably saw off Sittingbourne 2-0 on Saturday.

A goal in each half from Sean O'Toole and Austin Gacheru earned victory but a much larger scoreline would not of flattered as the Robins dominated proceedings from the first to last minute.

This third straight home win under new boss Rob Scantlebury sees Carshalton move up to 17th in the Ryman Division One South table, ahead of a visit of struggling Guernsey tonight.

"Our passing and movement out there was fantastic, we moved it well all game and it was fantastic to be a part of it," said Robins midfielder Jordan Clarke, who rejoined the club from Tooting and Mitcham United three weeks ago.

"We perhaps should've scored a few more goals, and I include myself in that, but we kept a clean sheet too which is just as important."

Clarke took the opportunity to put in a man of the match display as he was moved up from the bench to take the place of fellow midfielder Brendan Murphy-McVey, whom failed a late fitness test on a leg injury.

"Most people don't realise I can play in a more central position but I enjoy it because I can link play and get more shots off on goal," he added.

Guernsey arrive at Colston Avenue on Tuesday having lost their last three midweek visits to the mainland by an accumulative 19-2 scoreline.

"It's good to have another game so quickly after this performance because we'll go into it full of confidence. There are signs of us really starting to gel as a team and it's exciting," Clarke added.

Carshalton kick-off against Guernsey tonight at 7.45pm.
