Carshalton Athletic midfielder Jordan Clarke has signed on the dotted line, keeping his at the club until the end of next season.

Clarke, who is in his second spell at the club, has hit three goals in 11 appearances and is the fourth player to be rewarded in this manner this season.

He said: “I had no hesitation in signing for the club. It has shown faith in me and I’m delighted to have found somewhere I can concentrate on my football.

“I’m looking forward to repaying that belief by helping to move Carshalton in the right direction. The team spirit here is amazing and the fans have been great recently so I really feel at home.”

The 21-year old said his celebration with the management team after he scored against former employers Tooting & Mitcham United on New Year’s Day was no accident.

The Price is right for Carshalton Athletic

“The deal had pretty much been agreed at that stage and I just wanted to reflect the trust Rob Scantlebury and his assistants had in me by saying ‘That was for you guys’”, Clarke added.

“Knowing I have the backing of Rob and chairman Paul Dipre, plus the support from my team-mates and the fans, means I can concentrate on improving and developing.”

And Clarke is eyeing up the higher echelons of the Ryman South table after Carshalton took seven points from a possible nine over the festive period.

“There is no reason why we can’t push on and finish in a strong position,” he said.

“We are only eight points outside the last play-off place and that gives us something to aim for, but we have to remain consistent while beating those other clubs around us to achieve that.”
