Tooting & Mitcham United may have picked up the first piece of silverware this season, but boss Frank Wilson is not getting ahead of himself.

The Terrors won the Geoff Harvey Memorial Tournament last weekend with wins over Met Police on Saturday, and Hampton & Richmond Borough on Sunday.

Goals from Billy Marshall (two) and Gareth Chendlik saw off Met Police, while Josh Adusei, Mike Salako and Jake Baxter got the goals in a 3-3 draw with the Beavers that led to a 4-3 penalty shoot out win.

Triallists Salako and Baxter are expected to sign for the club tomorrow, as is Gareth Chendlik.

Wilson said: “We are not getting ahead of ourselves, but in terms of the balance of the side it was pretty perfect at the weekend.

“We had a result against Staines (0-5) in mid-week where we played a lot of triallists.

"We had little or no expectations in the Staines game, it was more about judging the fitness levels of the players.

"Then we could combine that with with a more focussed approach to the weekend.

“We’re very pleased that the things we’re working on in training are being replicated on the pitch against two good sides from the division above.”

The Ryman Division One South fixtures are due to be released on Friday (July 17), and the Terrors pre-season games continue on Saturday with the visit of Merstham (kick-off TBA).
