Hampton & Richmond Borough Tom Hickey lived up to his top-billing as the Beavers returned to winning ways on Saturday.
The 19-year-old came off the bench to score his side’s decisive 75th minute second goal in a 3-0 romp at Wingate & Finchley, that saw JJ Bates open the scoring in the first half and Joe Turner round things off on 86 minute.
Boss Mark Harper, who watched his side end a run of three straight league defeats at the weekend, last week hailed Hickey’s return from a five-match suspension as akin to a new signing.
The youngster could not repeat the trick on Tuesday night as the Beavers crashed 4-3 at Harrow Borough.
The hosts raced in to a 2-0 lead, before Charlie Moone halved the deficit before half-time.
Harrow extended their advantage to 4-1 in the second half, making late goals from Mo Bettamer and Gary Holloway mere consolations.
The Beavers travel to Thurrock tomorrow and Carshalton Athletic on Boxing Day.
