Leatherhead may have suffered a frustrating end to the season, but manager Richard Brady is already thinking positively about the next campaign.

The Tanners lost 1-0 to Faversham on Saturday leaving them short of the Ryman Division One South play-offs by one point.

Brady’s team have struggled for consistency since February, and the boss said improving his side’s home form is vital if they want to aim for promotion next season.

“I think the boys done as well as could be expected of them. We had to win the last game of the season and it just didn’t really go for us,” he said.

“We had chances, we didn’t take them, we let one in and that was it. It tells the story of our form this season really.

“There have been too many disappointing games this season and we need to get a little bit more consistency for next season.”

He added: “No team has been considerably better than us. We haven’t been outclassed or anything like that but it is important we take our chances.

“We will sit down as a management and look at where we went wrong and where we need to improve.

“The players can have a break and then let’s see what happens next year.”
