One player to leave the Robins this summer will be Ola Sogbanmu after he completed a move to Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division St Neots Town.

"This will represent a new challenge for me, plus the move fits in with my personal life too," said Sogbanmu, who is going into his final year of studying counselling and clinical psychology in Cambridgeshire.

"There are no words I can use to show my full appreciation to the fans who cheered us on and sang our names through every kind of weather condition.

"I'll also miss my fellow players and the club staff too, who made this season enjoyable despite its disappointing ending."

The forward, who could also play at centre back, hit 10 goals in 58 appearances since moving to Colston Avenue from Woking.

Eight of those appearances were made during a loan spell at the end of the 2011/12 season before the move was made permenant.

"I hope Carshalton will end up staying in the Ryman Premier," he added when asked about the on-going reprieve situation.

"Our last few performances were of a high standard and we scored a lot of goals, so based on that we were a little unlucky to miss out only on goal difference.

"I cannot see how Thurrock can appeal the decision as what occured seems blatantly against the rules."

Carshalton boss Tommy Williams said: "I was aware of the interest in Ola and, despite not wanting him to leave, his move is not simply for footballing reasons.

"I want to thank him for all his hard work last season and he would always be welcomed back here as long as I'm in charge."
