Kingstonian shotstopper Rob Tolfrey is refusing to get carried away with the club’s historic start to the new Ryman Premier Division season.

The 26-year-old has now kept six successive cleansheets this term after Saturday’s 4-0 win at Wingate & Finchley and Monday’s 1-0 triumph over Hampton & Richmond Borough.

The sequence is the table-topping club’s best since recording five back-to-back Conference shutouts in 1999.

“This is my fifth season at the club and I do not think I’ve kept two clean sheets in a row in the league. You’d have to look very hard to find them,” said  Tolfrey.

“It is going well and someone said the other day the last time we kept six cleansheets in a row was back in 1912, which is amazing.

“I’m just keeping my head down and making sure I do my best every time I play.

“Everyone is doing their job and there is a real feel good factor around at the minute.

“We’ve started well, but want to make sure we’re still up there at the end of the season.”

A Ryan Moss hat-trick and one from Andre McCollin accounted for Wingate & Finchley, before Moss struck his seventh goal in six starts in the triumph over the Beavers.

Ks travel to Maidstone United on Saturday.
