Two goals from Kev Terry and further strikes from Tom Bradbrook and Adam Burchell saw Tanners through the next round of the FA Trophy with an emphatic 4-0 win against Harlow.

The visitors were thwarted in the opening half hour by some excellent goal keeping from Deren Ibrahim before Leatherhead hit back with some great finishing of their own to set up a first qualifying round tie at Lewes.

Jeff Allen and Lee Pleau kept their places in the Tanners starting line up following impressive debuts at Hastings earlier in the week.

Manager Richard Brady’s latest signing, the vastly experienced Leroy Griffiths, also made a strong impression on his Fetcham Grove debut, playing wide on the left.

It was one-way traffic in the opening half hour, as the Hawks pushed forward in search of an opening goal.

Ibrahim did well to block Alex Read’s close range effort after two minutes.

Junior Dadson then headed wide before further shots from both Read and Dadson were blocked out by the Tanners' defence.

Hawks centre back Daniel Brown tested Ibrahim with a fierce 25 yard drive after 28 minutes but the Leatherhead keeper did well to turn it behind for another corner.

Having resisted the visitors’ attacking onslaught, Tanners took the lead very much against the run of play after 33 minutes. Bradbrook whipped in a cross from the left and Terry met it with a superb volley from 18 yards which flew past goalkeeper Darren Behcet.

Leatherhead added a second goal four minutes later when Darren Smith’s corner was flicked on to Bradbrook, who headed home from close range. It was the prolific striker’s 13th goal of the season in all forms of competition.

Harlow had the ball in Leatherhead’s net after 54 minutes but the referee’s assistant ruled it out for offside.

Tanners secured their passage to the next round after 80 minutes when Smith’s long range free kick was parried out by Behcet, but only as far as Terry who blasted home with another sweet volley from six yards out.

The trip to Lewes was assured when Tanners nabbed a fourth goal after 87 minutes. Ian Draycott’s long range free kick was spilled by Behcet and fell invitingly for Burchell to tuck home from close range.
