Alan Dowson admits three points are a must when Kingstonian host Croydon Athletic this weekend as the wheels threaten to come off their Ryman Premier play-off charge.

Back to back home defeats on Saturday and Monday against Carshalton Athletic and Concord Rangers saw the Kingsmeadow side slip to fourth in the table, having played more games than those sides around them.

And Dowson has demanded a return to form when bottom-of-the-table Croydon visit on Sunday.

He said: “We have not got time to be disappointed as there are too many games to play.

“The simple truth is we have to start winning games as quickly as we can.

“We are still in the mix at the moment but there is no doubt we have to get some points on the board as quickly as possible.

“Against a team like Croydon Athletic you really have to get three points and that has to be our aim.

“People are talking to me about other teams but to be totally honest I am not worried about anybody else and what they are doing, all I care about is concentrating on Kingstonian and getting ourselves right.”

Dowson’s men slumped 1-0 to Carshalton thanks to a second-half penalty, and then drew a blank again as they slumped 3-0 to Concord on Monday night, their fourth home defeat in the last six games.

And, having seen his side struggle in front of goal, the Kingstonian boss is looking for an improvement.

Dowson added: “I thought we played well against Carshalton but a scandalous ref cost us.

“Having said that, if you do not take your chances in football you are always going to have problems.

“We are having difficulty putting the ball in the net at the moment and we are getting punished for that and the quicker we get over that the better.”

Kingstonian’s next three matches: Feb 6 Croydon Athletic (h), 12 Aveley (a), 15 Lowestoft Town (a)
