Hercules Wimbledon AC's England indoor championships U17 60m bronze medallist Theo Etienne made a stunning start to his opening track season.

The 16-year-old won his 100m race in the opening Ebbisham League meeting at Sutton Arena in 10.9 seconds last weekend - the performance ranks him second in the UK rankings for his age group this summer.

Etienne could not equal the performance was unable to equal his Sutton performance on Saturday when he competed in the Kinnaird Trophy meeting at Kingsmeadow Stadium in unseasonably cold weather.

He was beaten into third spot with a time of 11.07secs. He was also fourth in his 200m race, the first time he ran over the distance, in 22.87secs.

Dwayne Cowan was second in the B race in a faster 22.53.

Jonathan Osbourne, the Surrey U20 400m silver medallist in 2012, was third in the 400m in 50.71secs with Hamed Agboke taking second place in the B race in 52.1secs.

Kieran White was runner-up in the 3,000m in 9:08.67, with Jonathan Cornish third in the B race in 9:35.55.

Rob Tuer was also runner-up in the 2,000m steeplechase in 6:40.84.

Hercules Wimbledon all-rounder Piers Willoughby-Strauss contested five events in the Sward Trophy.

His best placing was in the javelin where he was third with a throw of 29m. He was also fourth in the pole vault with 3m, and hammer where he recorded 20.73m.

Hercules Wimbledon's veteran road runner Frank Wood chopped more than 10 minutes off his personal best when he finished 20th out of 749 runners in the Shakespeare marathon at Stratford-upon-Avon on Sunday.

He was the sixth finisher in the veteran over-45 category, clocking three hours, four minutes, 18 seconds to improve on his previous best of 3:14:21 in the same event in 2011.

This weekend, Hercules Wimbledon open their Southern Men's League programme with a Division One match at Mile End Stadium on Saturday.

On Sunday, Hercules Wimbledon's road runners will compete in the Surrey half-marathon championship in Richmond.

The race starts at the junction of Petersham Road and Star and Garter Hill at 8.30am.
