Sutton Cricket Club skipper Johannes Myburgh is not panicking yet, despite three defeats on the bounce.

Two defeats in the Surrey Championship Premier Division, leaving them at the foot of the table, sandwiched elmination from the ECB National Championships at the second round stage.

However, South African Myburgh is all about the long plan, and as long as the team's attitude remains right, he is happy.

He said: "We don't like losing games, but there is a plan here at Sutton and we're working towards it.

"It will take time and we have to be patient, but we will get there."

Sutton's latest reverse was a five-wicket defeat at home to Premier Division champions Wimbledon, where a collapse from 69-3 to 90 all out, gave the visitors the simplest of run chases.

Myburgh said: "I had been happy with our pre-season and the attitude of the players in preparing for the opening game.

"But in our first game of the season, it was the bowling that let us down, and against Wimbledon, it was our batting - so there is not one thing in particular.

"If we'd got to 130 or so against Wimbledon on a difficuly pitch, it could have been a different story.

"To collapse how we did was disappointing, but the players attitude remains spot on."
