Hercules Wimbledon AC senior women wrote themselves into the club's history book by posting their first ever Rosenheim League victory at Tooting Bec.

The Hercules Wimbledon squad snatched victory by just one point in a thrilling team battle.

Emilie Bokor-Ingram took the 400m in 64.4 seconds before Ruth Wallace won the 1,500m in five minutes, 4.2 seconds.

These individual successes were backed up by Angela Kikugawa who was third in the shot and fourth in the long jump and then, fielding a 4x200m relay team for the first time, the quartet of Alice Keyser, Bokor-Ingram, Heather Letley and Ayoola Ajayi made it a winning debut to win in 2:01.5.

Hercules Wimbledon's men's team finished a close third in their match.

Individual winners were hard to come by and the club's only success was in the 400m, where Austin Ferns won in 51.7.

Andrew Penney had a busy evening finishing runner-up in the 800m, 1,500m and 3,000m, where there was a massive 41-strong field.

Teenage sprinter Theo Etienne, the Surrey County 100m and 200m men's U17 champion, was also runner-up in the 100m in 11.2, with Antonio Douglas third in the 200m, and John Dalton, making his Hercules Wimbledon debut, third in the shot and javelin.

Match result: 1 Belgrave 50; 2 Croydon 47; 3 Hercules Wimbledon 46; 4= Herne Hill and Serpentine 41; 6 Striders of Croydon 8.

Elsewhere, Hercules Wimbledon athletes broke five club records in the club's second Southern Women's League Premier Division match of the season at Guildford's Spectrum Leisure Centre.

Camilla Magni beat the previous bests club performances in the veteran over 40 200m and 100m hurdles, while former Commonwealth Games pole vault representative Alison Murray was another double record-breaker in the veterans over 45 category with her performances in the 100m and 200m.

The fifth club record was achieved by Angela Kikugawa who bettered the veteran over 50 mark in the javelin.

Best individual placings in a tough match were achieved by Amy Aronson and Bokor-Ingram who were second in the senior women's 3,000m A and third in the senior women's 400m A races, respectively.
