Kingston AC & Polytechnic Harriers are up to fourth in Division Two South of the Southern Athletics League after a meeting-winning performance at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.

Kingston finished top on 208 points on the day to lift themselves to within 35.5 points of top-placed Croydon Harriers in the overall standings – there are two meetings remaining.

Among the top male performers were Aidan Fahey, who won the 100m (11.4 seconds) and the 200m (23.3secs), Gareth Cook who took the shot putt (11.97m) and hammer (49.25m) events, and Loic Malroux, who claimed the 400m hurdles (60.1secs).

There was further success for Andy Wheble in the discus (40.67m) and Chris Dack, who threw the javelin 53.79m.

For the women, Mae Thompson was a triple hero winning the 100m (12.9secs), 200m (26.8secs) and 400m hurdles (67.7secs).

In the field, Pippa Wingate threw the shot putt 11.01m and the hammer 50.58m for top-spot finishes.

The 3,000m was won by Liz Richardson in 12 minutes, 21.4secs, and Layla Thompson was triumphant in the 1,500m steeplechase.
