Track-busy Harry Aikines-Aryeetey admitted he felt tired after crashing out of the 100m heats at British Grand Prix Diamond League meeting in Birmingham on Sunday.
It was just simply too much for 24-year-old Sutton & District sprinter who was involved in his fifth race within a space of seven days which obviously affected his performance in the second city.
He clocked 10.38secs, below his current season’s best of 10.26secs, to finish bottom of the pack while Croydon’s leading Brit James Dasaolu continued his fantastic form with 10.05secs.
“I didn’t really have anything, I feel a bit tired right now to be honest,” admitted Aikines-Aryeetey, who a couple of days before won a B race at Golden Spike IAAF World Challenge meeting in Ostrava, Czech Republic.
“I ran four races during the past week so I may have over cooked it.
“I didn’t come here to get beaten by Brits, I got beaten by Joel (Fearon) and obviously James (Dasaolu) is on fire at the moment.
“Things are starting to come together but it was a bit disappointing because I wanted to run well here.”
