Surrey’s six-year unbeaten run over Hampshire ended with a 115-112 defeat in an entertaining friendly at Fareham last week.

Although Surrey won four of the six rinks, defeats by 12 and eight shots on the other two proved crucial.

It was only Surrey’s third friendly defeat of the season under president Aga Hassan, who will be hoping for victories from the remaining four matches.

Best performing rink was Bernie Pederson (Tongham), Bob Daintree (Purley Bury), Ted Exall (Old Coulsdon) and Paul Chuter (Tongham), who won 27-16.
