Wandsworth’s Oscar Tudor has won the boys’ U12s category in the NatWest Pro Bowling final after overcoming a host of hopefuls at Lord’s.

The competition seeks out the most talented bowlers from around the country by using cutting edge technology to measure the speed and accuracy of their bowling.

Oscar was able to draw inspiration from England fast bowlers Stuart Broad, Steve Finn and Katherine Brunt, who were all on hand to provide tips on perfecting the finalists’ technique.

The competitors were also given a once-in-a lifetime opportunity to bowl at former England captain Michael Vaughan.

The NatWest Pro Bowling competition toured the country this summer as part of the NatWest Series against Australia, Bangladesh and Pakistan, where everyone attending the matches had an opportunity to take part.

Finalists were each given three balls to record their best delivery, measured by accuracy and pace using NatWest's innovative sensor mat technology, positioned inside inflatable nets. The most successful bowlers from each age category were then invited to the final at Lord’s to compete for the national title.

Michael Vaughan, NatWest cricket ambassador and 2005 Ashes winning captain, said: “It was exciting to see cricket fans of all ages, and a few great prospects, compete in the final here at Lord’s. The final was extremely hard fought and the depth of talent at all levels of the game was evident. Events like NatWest Pro Bowling are great for identifying and developing cricketing talent.”

Oscar Tudor was the worthy winner of a hotly contested Boys Under 12 category, as he triumphed in a high quality final that saw very high scores for speed and accuracy across the board.

Oscar from Wandsworth in London said: “To win the Pro Bowling final is amazing, it was such a fun day and so cool to meet the England players. Stuart Broad, Steve Finn and Katherine Brunt all gave me some helpful tips, and I even got the chance to bowl at Michael Vaughan!”
