Sutton & Cheam swimmers are celebrating after another very successful weekend, taking the Woking Open Gala by storm and winning the first round of the Rother League.
At the Rother League on Saturday evening, despite the club being seeded third, Sutton & Cheam swimmers finished in the top 3 in 44 of the 51 races including 20 first places.
The club ended the evening in top spot beating several clubs from a higher division. The club is looking forward to the second round which takes place on June 11.
The winning team, which included 6 sets of siblings, was: Erin Andrew, Natalie Andrew, Alfie Brown, George Brown, Danielle Carbery, Charlie Carr, Chris Carr, Killian Coutney, Joshua Eves, Nathan Eves, Jodie Fraser, Tomas Gibson, Rosie Heape, April Hedges, Ross James, Dario kan, Joseph Lenihan, Athena Lewis Gkokga, Lois Martin, Rob Mason, Aaron Prince, Michael Rees, Samuel Rees, Brooke Tafazolli, Ace Taylor, Eve Tidy, Jacob Tidy, Emily Vandrau, Juliette Williamson and Pavel Zabarsky.
Sutton & Cheam's 22 swimmers claimed 24 gold medals, 17 silvers and 16 bronzes at Sunday’s Woking Octopus Open Meet.
