The 12 contenders in the Williamhill.com Greyhound Derby line up at Wimbledon Stadium tomorrow (Saturday).

The fourth of June sees the Semi Finals of what has so far been an incredible competition and it really is now or never for all the connections in the chase for the £75,000 first prize.

The field is now wide open after the shock exit of favourite Razldazl Jayfkay on Tuesday night who missed his break at the start and failed to qualify, despite showing great form throughout the competition which included a track record equalling performance at the third round last Saturday.

Cloheena Cash proved to be the local star of the night on Tuesday as the Norah McEllistrim trained Dog won his heat in a solid time of 28.49 proving that his starting price of 14/1 underestimated his potential.

Keith Hallinan, General Manager of the track said: “The crowds again have been excellent and I’m sure it’s down to the calibre of racing. All of the races in the competition have been exciting, with finishes going down to the wire or acts of incredible determination to come from behind and qualify. We’re all very excited to see who will make it through to the final.

Kate Miller, from William Hill added: ''We have now got to the business end of the competition where things start to truly hot up. Tuesday's heats produced some shocks, but that is why the Derby remains unique. Just 12 greyhounds now remain the quest to find the 2011 williamhill.com Greyhound Derby Champion”
