Wimbledon Racquets Club's Charles Sharpes will be hoping for a repeat of last year's home turf success as the Canary Wharf Squash qualifiers this weekend.

Twelve months ago, the 20-year-old won through the qualifying event at the club and was rewarded with a first round encounter with world number one James Willstrop.

Since then, he has leapt to a career high 80 in the world rankings and will be hoping to continue his upwards curve at the Racquets Club - which is hosting the qualifiers for the fifth year running.

Saturday and Sunday will both have four matches between players ranked 30 and 100 in the as they battle it out for a place in the main event.

Tickets are available on the day or in advance on 020 8947 5806.
