Former Tiffin Girls’ School student Hannah Reid missed out on capping a memorable year in netball with silverware last week.
The 30-year-old captained Surrey Storm to the Netball Super League grand final – which they lost by a point – earning herself a spot in the senior England squad that toured Australia in May although she missed the cut for the Commonwealth Games.
Goalkeeper Reid, who plays for Epsom-based The Downs Netball Club, was again selected in the Storm squad last month for the forthcoming Super League campaign.
But it was not enough to see the Molesey netballer named Active Lifestyle Sports Professional of the Year at the Surrey Sports Awards at Kempton Park racecourse last Monday where she lost out to rising Surrey CCC star Jason Roy.
Surbiton Hockey Club colts chairman Fred Moore was a nominee for the outstanding contribution to sport award.
