Kingston & Polytechnic Harrier Pippa Earley surged up to second in the UK U15 girls’ pentathlon rankings at the weekend.

The 14-year-old Notre Dame School student won three – 75m hurdles, long jump and 800m – of five events at the South East England Schools Pentathlon Championships to take gold for Surrey.

Her haul of 3,331 points came on the back of new outdoor personal bests in the high jump (1.47metres) and 800m (two minutes 24.8 seconds).

Meanwhile, South of England Championships sprint silver medallist Nicole Kendall set a new 200m personal best of 25.0 seconds to win the U20 women’s race in Sunday’s UK Youth Development U17/U20 League Division South South/West One A meeting at Kingsmeadow.

The 19-year-old also set a new best of 64.0secs in the U20 women’s 400m hurdles.
