Teddington Swimming Club won 17 medals at the London Region end of season meeting – including nine golds, writes Matt Horan.

The club sent a team of seven to the event, held at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, and the results mark the end of a successful campaign for most of Teddington’s swim stars.

Brandon Sayers, 17, and Nicole Brenner, 15, were particularly impressive – both winning best in age group awards.

Sayers, swimming in the 17 and over age group, swam four personal bests on his way to winning three golds and a silver medal.

His victories came in the 50m freestyle (20.53 seconds), 50m butterfly (27.76secs) and 50m breaststroke (32.50secs).

Brenner won four gold medals– winning the 50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 50m backstroke and 50m butterfly.

Daniel Edmiston, 18, won gold in the 100m freestyle and added two silvers, while Anna Hunt, 15, won gold and two silvers – Emma Green, 14, and Joe Knill-Jones, 15 also secured medals.

Although the event marks the end of the season for some, many Teddington swimmers will now compete in both the British and English Summer Championships.
