London Welsh head coach Lyn Jones rued his side’s inability to take their chances as the Exiles went down 27-13 to visitors Grenoble.
The defeat all but ends Exiles hopes of reaching the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter finals.
“We went out there with the attitude to play,” he said.
“The players gave 100 per cent, but we were our own worst enemy and Grenoble were too good. If you’ve got players playing to their best ability, that’s the best you can do.”
Welsh go to Worcester tomorrow before hosting London Wasps on December 29.
