Head coach See hails team spirit, but the champagne stays corked for a while yet

Twickenham head coach Clive See has praised his charges after they clinched promotion from London Division Three North West, but he insisted the champagne corks were not popping just yet.
Following Saturday’s 69-0 demolition of Hitchin at Parkfields, See and his men secured second place and promotion.
However, the club were actually celebrating going top of the table, until an administrative error showing leaders Old Priorians had lost was rectified, and normal service was resumed.
See said: “We were cheering and dancing around for about half an hour thinking we had gone top.
“But, to be honest, we were not convinced Cheshunt had beaten Old Priorians and so it proved – it was just a mistake on the RFU website.
“However, to clinch promotion as runners-up with three games to go is very special and the players deserve a lot of credit.
“We were relegated last year and lost a lot of the regulars, so we’ve brought the youngsters through the colts and they have done fantastically well.”
Despite the elation of promotion, See is adamant the final three games will not be a wind down.
“I want three wins out of three. It is important we continue playing well so the lads have the confidence to take into the new season,” See said.
“I’ve not had it confirmed, but I think we’re going into London North West Two.”
