Five teenagers from Warlingham RFC have been selected by the RFU as young rugby ambassadors.

Peter Gee, Mark Stevenson, Stephanie Wright, Adam Hollidge and Harry Blainare are part of the first group of ambassadors with the role of developing young volunteers throughout the game.

Their aim is to pass on latest news on the Rugby World Cup 2015 to the community as well as encourage 16 to 24 year olds to play more rugby.

All five youngsters were chosen because of their commitment to Warlingham RFC, not only for their playing enthusiasm but also their willingness to assist in the management of the youth section.

Warlingham have more than 450 boys and girls in the youth section, who are coached and play every Sunday morning at the club's Hamsey Green home.

Warlingham's youth chairman, Frank Wright, said: "All these young members have been outstanding in their commitment to both the club and to rugby in general and they thoroughly deserve being appointed young rugby ambassadors."
