Teenage Rosslyn Park fly-half Will Robinson will bounce back from a trio of penalty misses last weekend, according to head coach Jan Bonney.

The 18-year-old was drafted in for the home match with Jersey but, despite notching three points early on, he missed three vital penalties in the 24-9 defeat.

He was replaced on kicking duties by Ed Lewis-Pratt but Bonney has no fears the experience will have harmed the England U18 international, who had an excellent game aside from the kicking.

"Will played very well," said Bonney.

"He is a confident kid and a very good player and he has been kicking great during the week and in the warm up.

"Perhaps there was a little pressure on him in the game but Ed is a bit injured at the moment and it was a chance to give him a little respite.

"I was pleased with how Will played.

"He's a good kid and he will bounce back from that and I am not worried about how he will take it.

"He will work hard and make sure he gets the penalties another time."

Park and Jersey exchanged penalties, and both had players sin-binned, until the last 10 minutes when Jersey took advantage of a tiring Park to score two tries.

After an impressive start to the season, Park, who face the long-journey to Newcastle to face Tynedale this Saturday, have lost their last three games.

"It is a test," said Bonney of their poor run.

"I am hoping we can get some boys back soon as we have a lot on injuries but we should still be performing.

"Ross Laidlaw and Stan McKeen coming back in the side will make a bit of a difference for us but if they don't come back in I think we have got enough players to be competitive in this league.

"We just have to do everything at once - make sure we don't miss our tackles, make sure we don't give way penalties and get all our set pieces on target."
