London Scottish head coach James Buckland will see his men take a well earned rest this week, but has warned them not to get in the holiday mood just yet.

Scottish made it a hat-trick of wins over Ealing Trailfinders this season, courtesy of a comfortable 42-13 win at the Athletic Ground.

It follows two away defeats on the bounce against Rotherham Titans and Leeds Carnegie, which derailed their Championship play-off ambitions.

“We got what we wanted out the game which was five points,” Buckland said this week.

“We said all along that Ealing have been getting better as the season went on.

“We didn’t control the game for 80 minutes, but controlled it enough to get the win.

“The main consideration was the conditions and it has been such a long time since we played in that kind of heat.

“It is vital now we keep winning.

“We have licked our wounds from the defeats at Rotherham and Leeds and if we want to remain in fifth we need to keep battling.

“Rotherham in fourth have gone to Nottingham and got a good result and whatever happens above us is out of our control.”

The London Scottish squad have been in training this week, but will be carefully managed as it heads towards the business end of the season.

Buckland added: “We have two big physical games coming up against Moseley and London Welsh so we need to find the right balance in training.

“It has been a long hard season, but the boys are keen to finish the campaign on a high.”
