The pressure is on for a Weybridge pooch hoping to be this year’s answer to Paul the Octopus.

Back in 2010, the octopus, who lived at the Sea Life Centre in Oberhausen, Germany, accurately predicted all of his team’s results in the World Cup.

This year, Boo, a three-year-old chocolate Labrador, will don his England shirt and sit in prime position in front of the television to see his team play.

Since he began wearing football shirts, which started out as a joke between his owner and a friend, Boo has proved to be a lucky charm, with all the teams he has rooted for in the past eight months coming out on top.

Owner Cheryll Endersby, 40, said: "He loves the attention and loves to watch sport. He has an England shirt and has been groomed ready for the match.

"He seems aware of what is going on and has been a bit more excitable than usual.

"Obviously he is a dog but he really enjoys it. When I get him to put on the shirt, he is really happy.

"I just hope he continues his winning streak." Boo will be wearing his England shirt as they take on Italy for their first World Cup match on Saturday.
