Former Eastenders star and pantomime villain Larry Lamb and Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Graham Bass, flicked the switch to turn on the Christmas Lights.

Crowds turned out to see Lamb was joined by fellow Aladdin stars Nathaniel Morrison and Rosa O’Reilly director Paul Tate, Santa and his elves and the Mayor outside Whitgift Centre on Thursday November 17.

Free events kicked-off at noon and included live music, and street entertainers leading to the switch-on at 6.30pm.

Lamb and Coun Bass stood side-by-side to push down the plunger and light-up the town with decorations paid for by Croydon BID.
