Since Oliver Elliott alerted us to the drastic tree surgery in Cheam the same has been happening in the Ringstead Road and Westmead Road area of Carshalton.
Surgery? Butchery seems a more appropriate.
The avenue of greenery midway along Westmead Road has been swept away and the once majestic trees left with just a handful of leaves.
I spoke to one of the surgeons, who assured me the trees would soon “green up” again. I only hope he is right.
