Road works in Croydon Road have been a nightmare for drivers.
Signs stated in advance there would be night-time work in Croydon Road but did not have times on and it seems that the work has run over into the rush hour.
On Friday, March 13, Croydon Road at the junction with Hilliers Lane/Beddington Lane was closed and diversions were taken either towards Mitcham or along Plough Lane in the other direction.
Both directions were standstill traffic and it took me an hour and a half to travel in the car from Beddington to Sutton town centre, via Mitcham town centre which I had no choice but to travel through.
What an absolute nightmare.
There should be clear diversion routes with sensible alternatives and warnings in advance so people can plan accordingly.
