Letter to the Editor: Police won't support 20mph limits without physical measures
In 2013 there was support by residents for a 20mph limit in Grosvenor Avenue.
It was never introduced because the police would not give support without physical measures to enforce it and most residents did not want any physical measures.
Without this, council officers would not support the limit either.
In June 2013 I received an email from Councillor Jill Whitehead stating that “Sutton Council will not be introducing a blanket 20mph limit in the borough.”
