Hardeep Matharu’s report (Top GP questions claims of secure hospital future, April 2) is of utmost importance.
It clearly shows that the proposals put forward by Better Services Better Value which were stymied have never been abandoned and continue in some form to be adopted by South West Collaborative Commissioning Group (SWLCC).
The SWLCC with Sutton Clinical Commissioning Group hold the purse strings and not chief executive Daniel Elkeles.
The spectre of downgrading of Epsom and St Helier is ever present.
The only way to safeguard our hospital services is for the public to be vigilant and organise an opposition to any closure and downgrading.
