I read with total disbelief that our local council has spent £34,000 on a clock at the top end of Sutton High Street.
Having totally ruined our old town by demolishing some of its beautiful old buildings, it would have been more appropriate to have spent this large sum of money on a far more worthwhile project to restore some character to a high street that now resembles every other suburban high street.
And to have spent this money at all is baffling as we are led to believe that stringent cuts have had to be made to maintain all of the services that Sutton Council provide.
It would appear that the current council members need to examine priorities in the spending of our money.
