I am writing in response to your article dead cat prompts fox fears, (April 30, p11) I would suggest that the correspondent Brenda Faulkner has an unwarranted fear.

It is unfortunate that she found the dead cat in the garden.

We have foxes and cats on a regular basis, both come to sit in the sunshine in our garden each taking no notice of the other.

I would say that cats are more predatory than foxes.

We have had visitors from all across the world who have marvelled at the wildlife we are privileged to see, including the squirrel that comes up to our back patio door asking for nuts.

Our foxes appear early in the morning putting their noses on the door to say hi.

It was a while ago that my photo of foxes snoozing was one of your viewfinder photographs.

Of course, random poison is a greater danger to cats than to children.

Just enjoy.
