I, like so many people, was absolutely stunned to read Anders Anglesey’s article concerning Beeches Surgery (Surgery falls short in quality inspection, May 21).

The surgery was established 34 years ago by the highly qualified Dr Alan Froley, not last July as intimated in your article.

The practice is so successful that more highly qualified doctors have joined Dr Froley. Also important is the good, helpful and friendly back-up team.

Unbelievable is the comment about treatment of the elderly. I think I am well qualified, at 83 years of age, to dispute this.

Every patient, regardless of age, receives the same professional treatment.

The problem with communication for non-English speaking patients is difficult because it is not practical to have various interpretors on the spot.

The only solution appears to be for patients who have problems conversing in English to bring a bilingual friend with them.

All organisations appreciate receiving suggestions that can be helpful. Beeches will certainly listen and act accordingly.

We all appreciate how lucky we are to have this practice with all its expertise.
