Every day I walk my dog coming over the bridge from Bridle Path to Richmond Green.

I find myself facing a row of empty bungalows.

Once built for the elderly of the borough, during a time when councils actually cared for the old folk, they are now destined for demolition by a council that does not give a hoot about the people that have probably contributed more to the country than any other.

This council says that they have subsidence and need demolishing.

Is that what happened to the bungalows in Ruskin Road? I find it hard to believe. Also the bungalows in Crispin Crescent are no longer allocated to the elderly, why?

Do they not realise that we all want to live somewhere with dignity and purpose. Not in geriatric ghettos.

This council should be ashamed.
