I am replying to the recent reports in your paper (Sutton ambition queried by rival borough leader, June 4) regarding Kingston Council leader Kevin Davis remarks about Sutton.
I lived in Sutton from 1956 to 1969, and although I now live in Kingston, I still regard it as my old stamping ground where I grew up, and the remark made is quite unfounded.
Councillor Davies is the worst Kingston Council leader in living memory.
Within days of taking office, he was rubbishing the previous administration and complaining that the town was a building site.
He has not got the guts or the dignity to resign, so he is having to be forced out.
Do not worry Sutton, we have respect for you in Kingston even if he has not.
