Glenthorne High School in conjunction Corinthian Casuals FC have announced their next round of trials for young footballers hoping to secure a place at the Ryman Premier club's academy next season.

Football trials will take place on Tuesday 8th April 2014, 10.30am -12noon at Goals, Soccer Centre, London Road, North Cheam, SM3 9BY, the trials are open to all boys born between the 1st September 1997 – 31st August 1998.

The Academy competes in the Football Conference Youth Alliance League as Corinthian-Casuals and the English Colleges League as Glenthorne High School where they enter a number of nationwide and local cup competitions. Home games for the Corinthian-Casuals Academy team will be played at the club's King George's Field ground in Tolworth.

Successful candidates will enrolled on to a two year programme, studying for their A levels as well as level 2/3 BTEC Diploma in Sport in an ‘Outstanding’ sixth form at Glenthorne High School in Sutton, Surrey. The academy programme also includes training sessions three times a week led by UEFA ‘A’ & ‘B’ qualified football coaches. Training includes an analytical element to teach students the theory and strategy of the game.

Fixtures will take place on Wednesday afternoons at 2pm.

Students who complete the programme can expect to follow pathways into higher education and employment opportunities within the sport and leisure industry. Previous academy students have gone on to university to study degrees in Sports Science as well as gaining successful employment in the sports industries.
