London Ambulance Service has issued a statement after a crash between a pedestrian and a lorry in Putney.

A man in his 40s was found injured in Upper Richmond Road just after 9am yesterday (April 24).

An ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic, an incident response officer and an air ambulance attended.

The pedestrian, a man, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition.

No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 9:06am today (April 24) to reports of a road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and lorry at the junction of Sheen Lane and Upper Richmond Road West, SW14.

“We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an advanced paramedic, and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a patient at the scene and took them to a major centre as a priority.”

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “At 09:07hrs on Wednesday, 24 April, officers were called to Upper Richmond Road, Putney, to reports of a collision between a lorry and a pedestrian.

“Officers attended alongside colleagues from the London Ambulance Service. The pedestrian, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital where he remains in a life threatening condition.

 

“No arrests have been made; enquiries continue.”
