A slimmer who lost more than seven stones in weight is encouraging more people to join the fight against obesity.
Rachel Biddulph from William Road, Sutton was a massive 17st 7lb when she started her weight loss battle two years ago.
Now, the 5ft 1in 26-year-old has slimmed down to a svelte size 10 and weighs 10st 3lb.
Miss Biddulph said she was a chubby child and unhappy with the way she looked, however she regularly turned to food for comfort and started yo-yo dieting when she was 17-years-old.
Miss Biddulph decided it was time to lose weight after a friend pointed out how big she was. She said: “One evening a friend told me bluntly how big I was and how much weight I had put on. The moment she said the words I was in disbelief, I couldn’t believe she could be so rude.
“I was so upset but that evening I sat alone and it dawned on me how true she was and just how much I wanted to change my life.”
Miss Biddulph said she now eats wholesome, healthy foods and as a result has more confidence, energy and self belief. She even took part in last year’s Cancer Research 10km Race for Life.
She said: “My weight loss has completely changed my life. I used to convince myself that I was happy and would always put on an act to cover up how I really felt inside. Now, I really know what happiness is and I am looking forward to what the future brings.”
Miss Biddulph said she now wants to inspire other people to take action into a healthier and more active lifestyle and has started a Slimming World group in North Cheam.
Classes are held at North Cheam Sports and Social Club every Tuesday at 7pm. For more information call Rachel Biddulph on 07931 135916.
