The devastated mum of Sally Anne Bowman has begged the model's murderer to return her belongings on the fifth anniversary of her death.

Linda Bowman, 48, wrote a four page letter to sick chef Mark Dixie who is currently languishing in Long Lartin jail.

A number of items were never recovered after the brutal murder on September 25, 2005, including her purse, handbag, passport, bra and knickers.

Mrs Bowman from Beddington pleaded with Dixie to return his “trophies” and asked him “Why would you want to keep these items a secret, for what reason?

“You don't have to continue to punish our family.”

Dixie was found guilty of the murder after a DNA match was made between him and samples taken from the murder scene.

The sick rapist was moved from Belmarsh Prison to HMP Long Lartin in Worcestershire after inmates at the south London jail vowed to maim him after he was caged in February 2008.

He received the letter from Mrs Bowman on Friday.

In her letter Sally Anne's mum, said: “Why not now show the world you have at least one decent bone in your body.

“You could never understand or ever feel that pain that I have to endure every waking moment of my life until the day I die.

“Maybe now the five year mile stone, it is time for us to meet each other, that is up to you.

“Please understand my Sally was a very private young women and she and our family would be mortified to think that maybe a child or teenager may come across these blood stained item's in the near future.”

Dixie was sentenced to 34-years in jail for the brutal rape and murder of the Croydon teenager.

Mrs Bowman is due to spend the fifth anniversary of Sally Anne's death by her daughter's graveside.

She originally wrote to Dixie in 2008 but got no reply.
