Regarding the issue to why Councillor John Keys switched parties from the Liberal Democrats to the Labour party, I believe he did so because he opposed the incinerator on Beddington farm lands and other issues that he disagreed with.
I should imagine that the Labour party subscribed more to his political ideologies than the Liberal Democrats the party he was once a councillor for in the Sutton area.
As to whether his deflection is undemocratic maybe but I think his conscience as a local councillor spurred him into taking this particular step.
I am not in politics myself but I believe Winston Church changed parties at least twice if i am right in saying and I don’t think he was actually elected to his new chosen party by the electorate in this country.
